This spicy mango sorbet is the easiest and most delicious way to use those delicious mangoes in your fridge! Sweet and refreshing with a surprise spicy kick, this is the perfect cold dessert for summer. Oh, also, it’s super healthy!

Spicy Mango Sorbet Recipe

It’s mango season (aka summer), meaning that you must eat mango multiple times a day in any shape, size, or form. That’s the rule, and I don’t make the rules (I did make this one, but I think we all agree!).

While nothing can beat a plain and simple juicy, delicious mango, this spicy mango sorbet is a close second.

It’s also the perfect way of using up any mangoes that might have become a little too soft before you could get to them. It’s sad, but it happens. But that does not mean you have to throw them away. You NEVER waste mangoes; that’s the second rule of mango season.

Are you also as passionate about mangoes as I am? Then try out these recipes!

I don’t like taking away from the OG mango flavor because it’s just so delicious, and this sorbet is the perfect way to enjoy that flavor with a little spicy kick.

Back in India, during summer, you often find fruit sellers that cut up mango and serve with a little salt and chili powder, and it takes the mango to a whole new level. I have used the same concept for this spicy mango sorbet by adding a few drops of Tabasco and salt. The chili and salt enhance the sweet flavor of the mango and leave an unexpected spicy twist at the end as the silky smooth sorbet melts in your mouth.

Of course, you can always skip Tabasco if you want to make a simple mango sorbet, but I highly recommend trying it with the spiciness. It doesn’t taste spicy when you eat it but just leaves a spicy aftertaste.

This is also the easiest dessert to make – just put all the ingredients in a blender and turn them into a thick smoothie-like paste and chill in the freezer overnight. That’s literally it.

Pro Tip: You can also free this sorbet in popsicle molds for kids (or yourself, no judging)

It makes for a great mid-day summer snack when the heat is getting to you because it’s 100% fruit and super healthy. (This is probably the first and last time you will read the word “super healthy” on my page 🤐)

So now that I have given you 100 reasons for making this mango sorbet, let’s get started!

PS: I always measure ingredients in grams, never in cups. Using a measuring scale is the only way to bake accurately. Cups are unreliable and can give different measurements, so I suggest you buy a measuring scale before you start baking! If you can’t get your hands on one, you can use the online tools for converting grams into cups; however, I do not guarantee their accuracy.
